Principles of Unity
- We believe in the necessity and possibility of root changes to our current society. We are fighting to create a new society based upon mutual respect and cooperation.
- We believe that the function of the State is, and has always been, to expand and defend the interests of the rich at the expense of the majority. We do not wish to sit in the seat of power, but to create power from below. We believe in true equality: all power to all people.
- We believe that the basic necessities of life—air, water, food, clothing, medicine, shelter, and education—can and should be freely available to all.
- We believe that a new society can be accomplished by the building of strong local communities, which shall have the resources to care for the needs of all of their members, the will to make their own decisions and carry them out, and the ability to defend themselves against outside interference.
- We hold respect for all forms of life on this planet. We reject the exploitation of any living being for the sake of profit, recreation or any superfluous reason.
- We are anti-imperialist & anti-capitalist.
- We are opposed to racism, sexism, classism, homophobia and all forms of oppression. We will actively resist any systems that support these structures.
- Respecting a diversity of tactics, we support the use of a variety of creative initiatives, ranging between popular education to direct action.
- We are autonomous, decentralized and non-hierarchical. We encourage the involvement of anyone who accepts this statement of principles.
- We organize with a regard for security culture, keeping in mind the constant repression and infiltration of political movements by the State.
- We stand in solidarity with the peoples of the world who are similarly trying to create new societies, and whenever possible, we will act in concert with these struggles.
