On January 20, 2005, George W. Bush will be sworn into the office of the U.S. presidency yet again. On this same day, revolutionaries around the country will be filling the streets to say NO to the Bush agenda and YES to a new world--the world that we will be building in the next four years and beyond.
We will be in the streets to visibly and actively reject the policies of this administration, and to stand in solidarity with those who resist all over the world. We renounce the occupation of communities of color--by militaries, paramilitaries and police forces, in places as far away as Palestine or Iraq, and as near as Austin's East Side.
We call for:
-
All businesses loyal to the interests of humanity above profit to shut their doors, either through the action of the owners or the workers.
-
All able-bodied individuals to participate in the street actions of the day, including high school walkouts at McCallum and Garza, a march congregating at the Capitol at 4:00pm, and a gathering at Congress Ave. bridge at 5:00pm.
-
A halt to all un-necessary commerce in observance of a day of free expression and resistance to the expansion of the U.S. empire across the world and into our homes.
